At least two people are feared drowned and six others were rescued when a boat carrying several persons capsized in a river at Hatiwara area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
Sources said a boat carrying at least eight persons capsized in Hatiwara river today. However, six persons were rescued by the locals and police during the rescue operation.
Two persons, reportedly non-locals, were missing and efforts are underway to trace them, they said.
Men from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), police and local people have launched a massive search operation in the river to trace the missing persons, they said.
