Four persons, including a groom and his brother, were charred to death and two others were injured when a car caught fire after being hit by a truck in Badagaon area of Jhansi district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Saturday.
Police sources said that the incident took place late on Kanpur highway late on Friday night when the truck hit the car moving in front of it. “The car carrying the marriage party along with the truck caught fire after the collision,” they said.
Police sources said that the fire tenders and the local police reached the spot immediately after getting the information. “But by the time fire was controlled four car passengers were charred to death. Two passengers were pulled out by breaking the window panes of the car,” they said.
Police sources said that the injured identified as Ravi and Ramesh have been admitted to the medical college. “The deceased have been identified as groom Akash Ahirwara (25), his brother Ashish, nephew Mayank (4) and car driver Bhagat,” they said.
