Ahead of the second part of the Budget Session, NC to hold Legislative Party meeting on Friday

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) Legislative Party, along with alliance partners, will hold a meeting in Srinagar on Friday.

The meeting has been scheduled just days ahead of the second part of the Budget Session, set to begin on April 7 in Jammu. It is expected to focus on formulating a unified stand of the alliance partners on Private Members’ Bills and Resolutions that will be tabled in the Assembly from April 7 to 9.

During the upcoming session, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will deliberate on 14 private member resolutions, three of which call for the restoration of statehood. Sources said the meeting aims to ensure a coordinated approach of the alliance.

Chief Whip Mubarak Gul in a formal meeting notice said the JKNC Legislative Party meeting along with the alliance partners will be held under the chairmanship of Omar Abdullah, Leader of the House, on April 4 at 11 AM at the official residence of the Deputy Chief Minister ‘s Fairview, Gupkar, Srinagar.

“Keeping in view the importance of the meeting, all the Hon’ble Members are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend the said meeting on the aforesaid date, time, and venue,” the notice read.

The 28-day Budget session begin on March 3 with the address of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The chief minister Omar Abdullah tabled the budget on March 7, which was the first budget by a democratically elected government of the Union Territory.
