J&K: CASO launched in woods of Ramnagar

Security forces have launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) early morning on Thursday in the woods of Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources here said that acting on tip off about the movement of two to three terrorists, search operation was launched on Wednesday.

A brief encounter was triggered between terrorists and security forces in village Jopher of Ramnagar.

“Two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped,” they added and said that the gunfight stopped later but searches continued.

“The CASO was intensified on Thursday morning as terrorists are believed to be trapped in the forest area,” they said adding that no fresh contact has been established so far.

However, search operation is also in progress in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district when terrorists and security forces briefly exchanged the fire on Wednesday.
