Date:

In a major anti-smuggling operation, vigilant troops of Border Security Force (BSF) have successfully recovered over 5.3 kg of suspected heroin, appears to be a drone dropped from the depth area of R S Pura Sector in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The BSF spokesman here today said that acting on precise intelligence, BSF troops foiled yet another attempt by Pakistan-based smugglers to push narcotics into Indian territory.

“Based on specific information received from BSF Intelligence, a special operation was planned, and a naka and special ambush was laid in the depth area of R.S. Pura in Jammu,” he said.

He added that during a search operation launched this morning near Village Bidipur of R.S. Pura, alert BSF personnel recovered two yellow-coloured packets (containing 10 small packets wrapped within them) weighing approximately 5.300 kg.

“The contraband suspected to be heroin was recovered from farmland, and appears to have been drone-dropped from across the border,” he added.

He said that a thorough search of the area is ongoing while the police have been called to take further necessary action.

BSF remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard our borders and nation from all threats, said the spokesman.
