Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of 6919 pilgrims leave from Jammu

A fresh batch of 6919 pilgrims left for Shri Amarnath cave shrine for the twin Pahalgam and Baltal routes in Kashmir on Friday from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp here.


An eighth batch of 6919 pilgrims this morning left the base camp.


The pilgrims, comprising 2542, left for Baltal in a fleet of 109 vehicles, and 4377 pilgrims left for the cave shrine in a fleet of 150 vehicles.


Last year, over 4.5 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave shrine.
The 52-day-long Amarnath Yatra will conclude on August 19.
