‘Animal’ heads to Japan: Ranbir Kapoor starrer to release in Feburary

Date:

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is set to make its theatrical debut in Japan, marking another significant milestone in the film’s global run. The high-octane action drama, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, will hit Japanese cinemas on February 13, 2026, following its massive box office success and global buzz.

The makers announced the Japan release on December 24 by unveiling an official poster that features Ranbir Kapoor in his intense, rugged avatar — capturing the film’s dark themes of obsession, violence, and raw masculinity. The poster positions Animal as a bold Indian action spectacle, blending scale, emotion, and stylised brutality.

The Japan release marks a major milestone for ‘Animal’, underscoring the expanding global reach of Indian cinema and Ranbir Kapoor’s growing international stature. With Japanese audiences showing increasing interest in Indian films across genres, anticipation is high for the film’s reception overseas.

Produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, ‘Animal’ will be released in Japan by Geek Pictures, a regular distributor of Indian films in the country. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri.

As of now, ‘Animal’ stands as the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film, with a worldwide gross of Rs 915 crore.

With its striking visuals, gripping narrative, thunderous background score, and Ranbir Kapoor’s career-defining performance, backed by a powerful supporting cast, the film is expected to resonate with both Indian cinema enthusiasts and Japanese audiences drawn to stylised international action dramas.
