The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday appealed to the people of Nagrota Assembly Constituency to extend overwhelming support to BJP candidate Devyani Rana in the upcoming by-elections, describing her as a symbol of women empowerment and people’s faith.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Adv. Purnima Sharma, BJP spokesperson and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation, along with Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media Secretary, J&K BJP, highlighted Devyani Rana’s dedication to public service and her deep connect with the people.
Purnima Sharma said, “The nomination of Devyani Rana represents the BJP’s commitment to empowering women based on service, integrity, and values. Even after the untimely demise of former MLA Devender Singh Rana, Devyani chose to stay among the people of Nagrota as one of their own. She continued to serve selflessly, listening to their problems and working for their welfare.”
Describing Devyani as an educated, compassionate, and determined leader, Sharma added that she embodies the hopes and aspirations of the constituency. “She considers the people of Nagrota her family and has pledged to serve them with full dedication,” she said, urging voters to support her candidacy.
Purnima emphasized that the BJP has always been at the forefront of women’s empowerment, ensuring 33 percent representation and creating opportunities for women leaders across India.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, in his remarks, said Devyani’s candidature reflects the BJP’s clean and people-centric politics. “Nagrota now has an opportunity to elect a young, visionary, and honest leader who stands for progress and transparency,” he said.
He further asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development. “The Congress and National Conference deceived people for decades with hollow promises, but the BJP has delivered on every commitment with sincerity and vision,” Dr. Mahotra said.
He appealed to the voters to choose truth, trust, and progress by voting for the BJP and Devyani Rana, ensuring a new chapter of empowerment and development for Nagrota.(KINS)
