Iraq beat Iran to win WAFF U23 Championship

Iraq won the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) under-23 Championship on Tuesday, beating Iran 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The championship opened on June 12 as nine teams, divided into three groups, played their matches at al-Madena Stadium in Baghdad and Karbala Stadium in Karbala Province, south of Baghdad.
