JK: People feel disappointed with SC verdict on Article 370: Vikar

Date:

Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Vikar Rasool Wani on Wednesday said the people of Jammu and Kashmir were disappointed with the Supreme Court verdict on Article 370.

Talking to media in the border town of Karnah in Kupwara district, Wani said that the people feel deeply disappointed with the Supreme Court Order regarding the Article 370, especially in the case of outsiders who were not allowed to get jobs and purchase land earlier here.

The PCC President said “directions of the Supreme Court are supreme, but they should have also given a time frame for holding of the state Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir like they did to announce restoration of statehood till September 2024.”

He said the Congress has to work for that as BJP is not giving anything now. “If any relief to people is given that is by the Congress party alone”, he said.

“Congress party proudly says that Article 370 was given to the people of Jammu and Kashmir by them”, Wani said.

The PCC President since it was BJP’s 70-year-old agenda to abrogate it, they did.
“But Congress is the only party who could redress the problems of the people and defeat BJP,” he said.
Vikar said Congress is everywhere whether it is in Karnah, Tangdhar, Kupwara and every part of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress will go everywhere to meet the people for their development.

He said in the upcoming elections the Congress party will do much better especially in the far flung.
