J&K Police conducts 30 public outreach programmes in Baramulla

As part of its continued efforts to strengthen police–public relations and address public concerns at the grassroots level, J&K Police conducted a public outreach programme across various areas of the district Baramulla.

The public outreach programme was conducted at 30 locations, including Brannar, Gudwani, Uranbowa, Gund Maqsood, Yall, Chekchetratram, Gulnarpark/Gulshaabad, Javind Nowshera, Mirher, Malpora, Wanimam Paseen, Masjid Awaan, Wahipora, Shaldaian Nowshera, Mangam, Pehlipora, Darveshpora, Uchlipora, Crisly, Venkara, Sharkwara, Zoojiwar, Uplina, Kambail, Gund Ibrahim, Peth Mohalla, Dargam, Babagail, Shahkote, and Haipora.

During the outreach programme, police officers interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances and issues, which mainly included water scarcity, irregular power supply, drainage system issues, inner road connectivity and macadamization, verification-related matters, concerns regarding cyber crime, and drug abuse.

The public was sensitized about drug abuse prevention, cyber crime awareness, verification procedures, public safety measures, and the importance of timely reporting of issues through Dial-112. The participants were assured that the genuine issues raised would be taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate redressal.

The initiative was well received by the public, who appreciated the proactive, people-friendly approach of J&K Police towards community policing and public welfare.(JKNS)
