J&K Police intensify crackdown on terror network in Baramulla

Date:

Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla have intensified their action against terror networks and subversive elements by executing a series of meticulously coordinated preventive operations across the district. The concerted initiative aims to strengthen internal security, neutralize law-defying elements, and reinforce the overall atmosphere of public order and civic confidence.

During the operations, six individuals linked with subversive networks were brought to police stations and bound down under law. Twenty-two properties associated with overground workers (OGWs) were searched, 20 OGWs were bound down, and two others were sent to jail under preventive detention.

Additionally, two individuals booked under UAPA (presently on bail) were examined, with one bound down under preventive law. Eight bailed UAPA accused were identified for bail cancellation, and two cases have already been submitted before the competent court. Police also conducted 16 cordon and search operations (CASOs) at various locations and checked 292 vehicles at different checkpoints across the district.

Further, five individuals linked to E&IMCO and two Jamaat-e-Islami affiliates were searched to ensure compliance with law. Two absconding UAPA accused were traced, and legal action has been initiated.

These coordinated operations were carried out to pre-empt potential security contingencies, dismantle disruptive networks, and maintain public peace across Baramulla.(KINS)
