Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a man who was allegedly sexually harassing a teenage girl in Srinagar.
Police arrested a 48-year-old Muahtaq Ahmad Khan, a resident of housing colony Chanapora, for sexually harassing his 13-year-old female relative.
A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POSCO) Act registered in Police Station Chanapora against the culprit, police said.
“One Mushtaq Ahmad Khan(48 Yrs) S/o Gh Ahmad Khan R/o Housing Colony Chanapora arrested for sexually harassing his 13 year old female relative. FIR 40/ 2023 in POCSO act registered at Chanpura PS. Srinagar Police salutes the courage of this brave child in reporting this crime”, a police tweet said.
