Continuing its drive against drug peddlers and its propagators, police have booked 02 notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act in Sopore after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Two notorious drug peddlers namely Firdous Ahmad Dar son of Nazir Ahmad Dar resident of Mahrajpora Sopore and Firdous Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohiudin Bhat resident of Mazbugh Sopore have been booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority & subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur and District Jail Kathua.
Its pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against these drug peddlers and they were involved in promoting drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Police District Sopore.
Consistent actions of Police against the criminals should reassure the community members that police are making all efforts to eradicate social evils and making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.(JKNS)
