Three persons were killed and 17 others were injured when a tractor-trolley overturned after being hit by a container in the Rajpura area of Sambhal district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Monday.
Police sources said that Shishpal Singh, a resident of Ladhanpur village, had died on Sunday. “To perform his last rites, the family members, relatives, and villagers had gone to Ganga Ghat in Anupshahr,” they said.
Police sources said that while they were returning after performing last rites on Sunday night, the tractor trolley was hit by the container near Deepur Danda village. “As the tractor trolley overturned Ghasiram (60), Mahilal (53) and Gumani (42) were killed on the spot, and 17 others were injured,” they said.
District Magistrate (DM) Manish Bansal said that those with grievous injuries have been referred to Aligarh Medical College under the supervision of doctors. “Those with serious injuries have been admitted to the district hospital,” he said.
