Five members of a family were killed when a car was hit by a dumper in the Matera area of Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place when Ghulam Hazrat (65), a resident of Matera Chauraha, along with his wife, daughter-in-law, one-year-old girl, and an army jawan, was going to Lucknow to get medicine this morning.
Police sources said that as the car reached near Karim Behad village, it was hit by the coming from Kaiserganj.
“While three persons were killed on the spot, two others died while being taken to the hospital,” they said.
