PM Modi, Polish PM Donald Tusk hold bilateral talks at Federal Chancellery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Thursday accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Federal Chancellery in Warsaw before he sat down for bilateral talks with Polish PM Donald Tusk.

The visit by PM Modi is the first by an Indian PM to Poland after 45 years.

After the welcome, PM Modi sat down for bilateral talks with his Polish counterpart. The PM was accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in posts on X said:

“A new landmark in India-Poland partnership!

“PM @narendramodi warmly received by PM @donaldtusk of Poland at the Federal Chancellery in Warsaw and accorded a ceremonial welcome.

“This visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland after 45 years will impart fresh momentum to India-Poland partnership.”

Separately, EAM held talks with his Polish counterpart Rados?aw Sikorski.

In a post on X, the EAM said:

“A good conversation this morning with FM @sikorskiradek of Poland.
“Discussed the Ukraine conflict, Indo- Pacific situation and bilateral cooperation.

“Confident that Prime Minister @narendramodi’s visit will give a fresh impetus to India-Poland ties.”
